An early bird catches the worm as the say and If you were one of Rachel's seven bridesmaids getting ready at the Glebe in Week St Mary then you had to be both pretty and early....and they were. As the morning broke it was clear that Saturday 17th May 2014 was going to be great day for Rachel and Matt on their big day in the North Cornish countryside.

I arrived to find a relaxed and joyous household excitedly getting ready with their hair and make up as the father of the bride Phil took it all in his stride. Hairdressers Claire form and Jenny from Jen's Hair & Beauty worked fastidiously in front of the mirrors as the sunlight poured in. Make up artist Abi Scott also doing great work making it a lovely team to be around.

Before heading to the Week St Mary Church I called in to see the boys who were making it look easy. A quick stop at the pub and they were they ready and waiting alongside Canon Revd Rob Dickenson who officiated what was to be a beautiful ceremony, one which made a few eyes in the place fill with a tear on more than one occasion.

After confetti was thrown the guests made there way to Hedley Wood in Bridgerule, Devon where the punch began the celebrations. I jumped in the car and followed the now Mr and Mrs Wood in a cool black Range Rover to a private estate with a beautiful Manor house and stunning gardens which provided a lovely backdrop for the bride and groom portraits. After taking a few nice shots we made our way to Hedley Wood.

We played around taking fun shots of the bridal party and family and friends not forgetting the Munch bunch girls. All the bridesmaids actually picked Matt the groom up off the ground for a shot and survived with hopefully minimal bruising. We also did a shot where all the guests were positioned to make the shape of a heart around the happy bride and groom which was nice.

After the speeches and a great spread of home cooked food it was off to do some clay pigeon shooting and bounce around on the inflatable castle while the hog roast was being slowly cooked by father of the groom. After the first dance I joined the boys to take a classic shot of them enjoying their Cuban cigars.
